The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has captured no under five people who had sent fake biometric catching machines to enlist candidates for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations.
The suspects, as indicated by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, were captured while executing certain anomalies in the continuous enlistment.
The purportedly admitted to spending over N20m to build a radio stage with which they hacked into JAMB's enlistment entryway.
In an announcement issued in Abuja on Saturday, the Spokesperson of the JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated, "These enrollment criminals sent fake biometric catching instruments and super-forced enlistment slips just to fulfill the interest of honest hopefuls that their enrollment was fruitful.
"What's more, upon the arrival of examination, such hopefuls' information would either be altered, or not found on the JAMB information base.
"Such hopefuls would not be confirmed amid the examination legitimate."
Benjamin revealed that the fraudsters were captured differently in Oyo, Ogun and Maiduguri by officers and men of the NSCDC and conveyed to Abuja.
Amid their cross examinations in Abuja, Benjamin stated, the suspects gave startling disclosures of how they led their operations.
"While being paraded within the sight of the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Mohamadu, the fraudsters admitted to various enrollment infractions that JAMB couldn't envision," Benjamin said.
